About me

Name: Toma-Mihai (english equivalents Thomas and Michael) - people usually call me Toma or Tomi

Chitu (english prononciation Keats + how you would read a double o in say book)

Age:278

Born on a sunny September day some twenty seven eight years ago in the plain city of Timisoara, Romania. Graduated from the N. Lenau german high school then became a chemical engineer in Environmental Engineering at the “Politehnica” University. Afterwards I enrolled at the same institution for Master of Science degree specialising in Environmental Process Technologies. The years of study at the Politehnica University allowed me two internships at the Ecole des Mines d’Albi Carmaux University in France dealing mostly with drying modelling and novel dehydration methods. The work in France brought me close to the Particle Engineering wing. After completion of my masters degree in Romania I decided to take up the challenge of PhD in the field of Particle Technology dealing with wet granulation of fine, cohesive powders. I succesfully defended my PhD thesis on the 10th December 2010. After some job hunting I decided to move up north, just east of Paris for a one year contract with the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, the geotechnical division, working on inter-facial behavior of granular solids.

Finally some interests: sports, IT, politics, photography, music (from classic to prog rock to silly commercial jingles)
